Whether you are an experienced diver or have never dived before we can find a tour to suit your needs. The Great Barrier Reef stretches 2000km along the majority of the Queensland coast. The diving mecca of the East Cost is Cairns, found in the Tropical Far North. Cairns is a modern tropical city with a relaxed atmosphere and is the primary gateway to the Great Barrier Reef region.

Cairns is the ideal place to either be introduced to diving for the first time or to take part in a Learn to Dive course. For those who are already certified as divers the options are limited only by the amount of time you have in this divers paradise.

Cairns is an ideal base to explore the wider Tropical North Queensland region with front door access to World Heritage listed Reef, Rainforest and Outback. There are numerous dive operators from Cairns, Palm Cove and Port Douglas providing a vast array of dive trips. You can spend the day on the reef, diving and snorkeling or you may opt to join a liveabord trip and actually stay overnight. You may stay for 2 days or longer (up to 8 days!). Extended trips to the Coral Sea and the Cod Hole are favorites for all levels of diver.

Many of the Whitsunday's islands also shelter fringing reefs, so you can explore a different reef every day in this aquatic playground.

Vibrant Airlie Beach lies in the heart of the Whitsundays and is a great base from which to explore the region. Sit in the shade of a palm tree or dine at vibrant al fresco restaurants. There's a cosmopolitan nightlife with many clubs offering a range of entertainment when the sun goes down.

 

Airlie Beach Lagoon in the centre of town is a welcome oasis. The large man-made lagoon is perfect to cool off and relax with a swim. Stroll to Abel Point Marina, the boarding point for numerous cruises. Shute Harbour 11km to the south is a major ferry terminal and jumping off point to the reef and islands.
